WOMEN, MATHEMATICS AND INVISIBILITY: A SYSTEMATIC LITERATURE REVIEW (2014 – 2024).

This systematic literature review aimed to analyze academic production on the themes of women, mathematics, invisibility, and gender. Search filters were applied to include works published between 2014 and 2024, in open access, in Portuguese, English, and Spanish, developed in Brazil, encompassing articles, theses, and dissertations. Texts that did not directly address the theme were excluded. The survey resulted in 24 studies, 21 authored by women and only three by men, highlighting the leading role of female researchers in the discussion. A greater concentration of publications was identified between 2020 and 2022, particularly from universities in Bahia, Rio Grande do Sul, Rio Grande do Norte, and São Paulo. The most recurrent themes addressed historical invisibility, gender inequality, social stereotypes, and intersectional issues related to race, class, and motherhood. Despite recent progress, gaps remain, such as the scarcity of longitudinal and quantitative studies, as well as research analyzing institutional equity policies. It is concluded that the literature offers important foundations for new investigations and contributes to giving visibility to women in mathematics, reinforcing the role of this production as a subsidy for future research, including this dissertation.
