METODOLOGIAS ATIVAS NO ENSINO DE ENGENHARIA CIVIL:
ANÁLISE DA APLICAÇÃO DE PBL E TBL NA DISCIPLINA DE HIGIENE E SEGURANÇA DO TRABALHO

The teaching of Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) in Civil Engineering undergraduate programs has historically faced the challenge of overcoming traditional passive methods, which often result in a gap between normative theory and the practical reality of construction sites. In this context, this study aimed to analyze the effects of implementing active learning methodologies, specifically Problem-Based Learning (PBL) and Team-Based Learning (TBL), in the teaching-learning process of the OHS discipline at Centro Universitário Araguaia. Methodologically, the study is classified as applied action research with a mixed-methods approach, involving a census of 12 students from the 2025/1 cohort. The pedagogical intervention consisted of the technical development of Risk Maps in the institution's real environments, subsequently evaluated through a structured questionnaire. Results demonstrated that 100% of the students considered the activity extremely relevant to their professional training. It was observed that the practical identification of risks, especially ergonomic and accident-related ones, generated a positive cognitive imbalance, requiring greater critical thinking compared to physical and chemical risks. The teamwork dynamics (TBL) were rated as effective by over 90% of the class, fostering positive interdependence. It is concluded that the integration of PBL and TBL was decisive in consolidating a preventionist culture, promoting the development of technical and socio-emotional skills essential for the contemporary engineer, and transcending mere rote memorization of standards.
