ARBORIZAÇÃO COMO INFRAESTRUTURA VERDE
REVISÃO SOBRE SUA INTEGRAÇÃO AO PLANEJAMENTO URBANO E SEUS IMPACTOS SOCIOAMBIENTAIS E ECONÔMICOS

This article addresses urban afforestation as a structuring element of city planning with emphasis on the Cerrado biome. It is based on the understanding that the presence of trees in urban spaces goes beyond the aesthetic dimension, being directly related to climate regulation, environmental quality, and the population’s well-being. Although these benefits are widely recognized in the literature, it is observed that, in practice, urban tree planting is still not consistently incorporated into Brazilian urban planning. The methodology was based on a literature review, consulting articles in CAPES journals. The results demonstrate the need to rethink urban planning so that trees can be incorporated as essential infrastructure, fundamental to fulfilling their ecological, social, and economic functions, thereby enabling quality of life in cities.
