PRÁTICAS SUSTENTÁVEIS E EDUCAÇÃO AMBIENTAL EM UMA ESCOLA DO MUNICÍPIO DE ANANINDEUA/PA
Abstract
This study investigated Environmental Education and sustainability practices in basic education at a municipal school and it aims to present the results obtained from the application of sustainable pedagogical practices in elementary school classes, as well as the results of interviews carried out with teachers. The purpose is to understand teachers' perceptions regarding the environment and how meaningful practices can enhance learning. The study was divided into two stages, carried out in person, using a qualitative approach. The activities developed demonstrated the importance of pedagogical practices in the learning process, in addition to promoting meaningful reflections throughout the activities. The research revealed that, despite some advances, socio-environmental public policies still do not satisfactorily address the main contemporary challenges. It was observed that, although few teachers have specific training in the area, they all integrated environmental aspects into their classes. The activities developed with the students demonstrated a positive impact on their understanding and relationship with the environment, however, the absence of continuous and integrated environmental projects in schools represents a significant gap, what highlights the urgent need for public policies articulated with educational policies and the school community to promote effective Environmental Education.
