APPROPRIATIONS OF PROFESSIONAL, VOCATIONAL, AND CAREER GUIDANCE INSTRUMENTS FOR PEOPLE MANAGEMENT

Among the career options available to future psychologists, one viable alternative is to guide professionals in career development, thereby aligning personal expectations with organizational goals. This study aimed to present how various instruments are applied to promote practices related to "Professional Guidance," "Vocational Guidance," and "Career Guidance." Although these processes are often used interchangeably, they have distinct focuses. For such guidance practices, it is advisable to rely on theoretical propositions from different fields, such as Organizational and Work Psychology and Strategic People Management. For psychologists engaged in guidance processes, specific instruments approved by SATEPSI (Psychological Testing Assessment System) are available to facilitate interventions and evaluations regarding decision-making in career choice, definition, and development. Thus, this study analyzed the propositions and applicability of the following instruments: QUATI, the Maturity Scale for Professional Choice, the EAE-EP Scale, the Professional Interests Assessment Collection, the Professional and Career Guidance Guide, and the TDP. Understanding how these instruments are employed is essential for future psychologists to provide effective support at different stages of their clients' professional lives, helping them achieve satisfaction and fulfillment in their careers while enabling choices aligned with the profiles of future professionals entering organizations. This study contributes by suggesting preventive perspectives on how to understand new workforce compositions, particularly within the field of People Management.
