Abstract

A sociedade moderna construída pelo modo de produção capitalista, marcado pelas duplas revoluções dos séculos XVII- Industrial Inglesa e XVIII- Francesa, aportou-se em um projeto iluminista de civilização ocidental. Passados mais de quatro séculos de reprodução do capital e das desigualdades sociais, independente das interpretações que eles suscitam diante do alcance de sua efetividade, foram marcados por profundas transformações. No campo científico,segundo Gallo (1997, p.96), recorrendo-se à Foucault (1926-1984), " o mundo moderno,do século XVI aos dias atuais,é marcado por duas epistemes distintas:a clássica fundada na similitude,e a moderna,erigida sobre a representação". As ciências humanas e sociais nascem e firmam-se sob o signo da representação.
