SPORTS AND LEISURE: FROM GENESIS TO POLICY

Abstract

In times of sporting mega-events in the Brazilian context, this article has as main focus to understand how the genesis of sports and leisure influenced the conformation of public policies for the respective field. Taking as theoretical contribution the sociological studies of Nobert Elias and Pierre Bourdieu to understand the sport phenomenon as a social space and field of disputes and relate it to the model of Advocacy Coalition Framework that deals with the insertion of values, beliefs and behaviors in the construction of public policies, in particular, in the public policies of sport and leisure.
