Abstract

In the last decades, humanity has been increasingly concerned with environmental issues, and particularly with the problem of open dumps, which in addition to attracting vectors is highly polluting the soil, water and air. The biodigester is a very interesting alternative for the treatment of solid waste, because it uses waste that would be dispensed as garbage and will normally stop in unsuitable places. Environmental education must begin at the school base with the awareness of the rational disposal of domestic solid waste, with the use of its nutrients for the soil and not only seen as household waste, fostering other possibilities and alternative forms of use as organic fertilizer and biofertilizer. The objective of this work is to present the potential of the biodigester for the production of organic fertilizer and biofertilizer, as a source of fertilization, presents the ease of construction and operation of a homemade biodigester and the transformation of domestic organic waste. The values found in obtaining organic fertilizer and biofertilizer are satisfactory in terms of micronutrient values for fertilization.
