THE INCLUSION OF PHYSICIAN AND CHAUFFERS IN SPORT: FITNESS AND VALIDATION OF THE "PARAPETECA"
Abstract
The proposal of rehabilitation as a process of inclusion, regardless of the nature or origin of disability, is to ensure for them the widest participation in social life and yet provide the greatest possible independence in activities of daily living. In this sense, this article proposes a re-reading of a sporting modality quite widespread in Brazil, the shuttlecock, besides offering a new vision about the inclusion of people with physical disabilities in the modality, that after the appropriate adaptations to the reality of the disabled person, is designated as a parashuttlecock, or a shuttlecock adapted, and establish guidelines for inclusive practice and paralympic sport. Because it is a new modality and aims to include people with disabilities in an already existing sport, the parashuttlecock is an alternative for Physical Education teachers and practitioners in the process of integration and integral development of the person, not limiting the access or the proposals of practice, essentially aiding the dynamics of the game and reinventing the rules in order to join even more citizens to it. Such rules and adjustments still need revision and attend to the confederation of the sports modality, in order to formalize the category.
