EFFECTS OF HYDROGYNASTICS ON BLOOD PRESSURE OF PREGNANT WOMEN: A REVIEW STUDY
Abstract
This study aimed to understand what randomized scientific research has pointed out about the effects of water aerobics on blood pressure control in pregnant women. In this study, a descriptive bibliographic review was performed through the search for manuscripts available in the Latin American and Caribbean Health Sciences Literature (LILACS), Scientific Electronic Library Online (SCIELO) and in the database maintained by the United States National Library of Medicine (PUBMED). A total of eight manuscripts were included in this review and the main observations showed a heterogeneity regarding the number of pregnant women who underwent water aerobics and the results observed in the studies. Most research applied water aerobics exercises for 50 minutes three times a week in a heated water pool (28-30ºC) and the general observations showed variations in the blood pressure (BP) of pregnant women, where in those who underwent systolic BP remained unchanged, and in some studies reduced from the 1st to the 2nd trimester of pregnancy, but from the 3rd trimester there was an increase in BP. In general, studies show that water aerobics can reduce BP in pregnant women after exercise, at rest, during the first two trimesters of pregnancy, and that water interferes with hemodynamic responses differently during pregnancy. the pregnancy.Downloads
