INFLUENCE OF THERMAL TREATMENT AND LIGHT AND TEMPERATURE SCHEME IN GERMANY OF IPE-GREEN (Cybistax antisyphilitica) SEEDS.
Abstract
Ipê-verde (Cybistax antisyphilitica) is an important tree species for a Brazilian cerrado region, due to its medicinal characteristics and its use for recovery of degraded areas and recomposition of permanent areas. Knowledge of its germination process becomes paramount for the optimal use of its seeds. The objective of the present work was to evaluate the germination percentage and germination speed index of seeds of green ipe (Cybistax antishphilitica), submitted to heat treatment and different germination methods. The experiment was conducted at the Seed Analysis and Technology Laboratory of the Federal University of Goiás. As ipê-verde seeds, they were collected in the municipality of Hidrolândia. The heat treatment occurred in hot water at temperatures of 30 ° C, 60 ° C, 80 ° C and room temperature (control). The germination methods used were with the aid of a Mangelsdorf seed germinator, with a temperature of 30 ° C, and a photoperiod germination chamber, regulated by 12 hours of light and 12 hours of dark temperature of 30 ° C and 20 ° C. ° C respectively. For each Ipê treatment, 8 repetitions were made containing 25 seeds. Variance analysis was performed by F test and media comparison by Tukey test (5%). Seed germination was higher in the 30 ° C and 60 ° C control controls of the photoperiod germination chamber, with a mean of 74.3% and the seed IVE was higher in the control treatment (1.07) in the photoperiod chamber compared to the other controls
