LÍNGUA BRASILEIRA DE SINAIS E CULTURA SURDA NAS HISTÓRIAS EM QUADRINHOS
Abstract
The aim of this study was to identify the use of the Brazilian Sign Language, Libras, in three comic books available on the internet: Ian and the Amazon Fish, The Deaf Woman in World War II and Dragon Ball Z: Super. Methodologically, the research is exploratory, with bibliographic and documentary data analyzed in a qualitative approach. The analysis made it possible to identify the presence of deaf characters in two comics or the personal sign of hearing characters; the presence of the image of the sign accompanied or not by the translation into Portuguese or written sign language; the use of the manual alphabet in specific situations, as occurs in Libras and the manifestation of artifacts of deaf culture in one of the copies. As well as spreading Libras, these possibilities, when used in the classroom, can stimulate the learning of this language in both sign and written modalities.
