This article discusses the importance of integrating theory and practice in Engineering education, especially in the context of the transformations that the sector faces in the 21st century. The curricularization of extension, driven by legal changes, has strengthened the connection between academic training and the demands of society. A practical example of this integration is the TERRACOR Workshop, held during the UniAraguaia na Comunidade event. The extension activity proposed the production of natural paints from soil pigments, a sustainable alternative to the conventional paint industry. During the workshop, students and community members actively participated in the paint manufacturing process, promoting practical learning and the development of ecological solutions. The results indicated that participants recognize the environmental benefits of natural paints, highlighting their simplicity in production and low cost. Thus, the TERRACOR workshop exemplifies how extension activities can strengthen academic training and contribute to the dissemination of sustainable practices, combining theoretical knowledge with community practice.
