Abstract

The integral school is seen as "a way to ensure a quality public education." (GOUVEIA, 2006, p.84). In this perspective, we will cover in this work, integral education, which is experiencing a growing demand in contemporary society, it is subject to a different timetable, where students spend the day in the school, performing various activities aimed at social, cognitive, and also diverse knowledge and experiences that the part-time does not offer. This extended day, when well used by students who are in socioeconomic vulnerability, it can be a very effective policy to combat social inequality. This article then tries to bring an analysis of this school profile in the light of regional development, in order to propose a reflection on the subject.
