PHILOSOPHY OF MATHEMATICAL EDUCATION IN MIDDLE SCHOOL: A STUDY OF THE "NEW LOOK: MATHEMATICS"
Keywords:
Philosophy of Mathematical. Middle school. Textbook.Abstract
The research has as its theme the Philosophy of Mathematical Education (FEM), area of study and research of mathematics education. The problem is investigated in the textbooks of the collection "New Look: Mathematics", from 1st to 3rd grade of high school, if the figures and texts referring to the philosophers and the philosophy of mathematics, fall into the field of the FEM and, from this To organize and problematize the articulations and approximations between the contents of mathematics and philosophy. The research methodology is organized within the field of FEM proposed by Maria Aparecida Bicudo and involves two parts: the first, the logic of the "presence" of the philosophy theme next to the proposed content; The second is a deepening of the philosophical concepts addressed, launching questions, criticism and articulation within philosophy, philosophy of education and, of course, the FEM. The results point to a conceptual fragility in the philosophical analysis, above all, the approach to Philosophy is very superficial, as well as, they are difficult to assimilate and understand the students, that is, they are very watertight in the form of presentation. It is concluded that the research responds to its problematic, but under some restrictions, among them, the need for greater clarity in the relation of the mathematical content with the FEM.
