TEACHING OF ACIDS AND BASES: AN EXPERIENCE EXPERIENCED IN THE YOUTH AND ADULT EDUCATION

Abstract

Experimentation in Chemistry Teaching should foster the understanding of Chemistry as a science and its development should lead to the learning of scientific concepts. This work comes from a research that involved the participation of students of the 2nd period of Youth and Adult Education in a public school located in Goiânia (GO, Brazil), where experimental demonstrative activities were developed to study the concepts of acid and base according to the Arrhenius theory. Starting from the assumption that the Education of Young and Adults turns mainly to compensatory actions, the importance of activities that involve the diverse knowledge of the students and the approach of chemical concepts in contextualized way stands out. The impacts of the experimental activities allowed the development of critical reflections on proposals for facilitating the teaching of chemistry, the planning of classes and the selection of quality materials and with the potential to contribute significantly to the teaching-learning process.

Maria Cecília dos Santos Vieira, Faculdade Araguaia

Licenciada em Química pela Pontifícia Universidade Católica de Goiás (2014), Especialista em Métodos e Técnicas de Ensino pela Faculdade Brasileira de Educação e Cultura (2016) e Mestra em Ensino de Ciências pela Universidade de Brasília (2017). Possui experiência na Educação Básica, Ensino Técnico, Superior e em Tutoria na modalidade de Educação à Distância. Atuou em Laboratório de Equivalência Farmacêutica especialmente no controle de qualidade, em Laboratório de Ciências e na prestação de serviços técnico-químicos especializados. É professora adjunto da Faculdade Araguaia, ministrando disciplinas relacionadas à Química e Bioquímica.

Sandra Regina Longhin, Pontifícia Universidade Católica de Goiás

Possui graduação em Licenciatura em Ciências com Habilitação em Química pela Universidade Federal de São Carlos (1979), graduação em Bacharelado em Química pela Universidade Federal de São Carlos (1980), mestrado em Química Analítica pela Universidade de Brasília (1994) e doutorado em Química Analítica e Inorgânica pela Universidade de Brasília (2008). Atualmente é professora Titular do Instituto Federal de Educação, Ciência e Tecnologia de Goiás, campus Goiânia, e professora Adjunto da Pontifícia Universidade Católica de Goiás. Tem experiência na área de Química, com ênfase em Química Ambiental, atuando principalmente nos temas poluentes emergentes, resíduos químicos e gerenciamento de resíduos. Na área de Ensino de Química e Educação Ambiental atua no Mestrado Profissional em Educação para Ciências e Matemática do IFG na Formação de Professores para o Ensino de Química, em Educação Inclusiva, em Educação Ambiental. Atualmente coordena o Projeto Multidisciplinar Física/Matemática/Química do Pibid da PUC Goiás.
