ADVANTAGE OF PLOWWATER FOR NON-POTABLE PURPOSES
Abstract
Water is a resource with great importance to life, being scarce when takes time to become a drinking, considering its natural cycle. Brazil suffers from water shortages, even if it is located on a continent that has countless water reserves. As a consequence, grows the need for mechanisms that offer possibilities of reuse, since it is not inexhaustible in availability. In this article, a prototype of simple and low-cost operation for water treatment will be presented, wichs basically consisting of physical, chemical and biological filtration, with purpose to making it suitable for reuse. The results of the laboratory tests certify the quality of the first and tenth rainwater treated by the prototype, which showed improvements in its parameters, such as in the BOD that a reduction of 100% for first rain water occurred, for tenth rain water there was a 100% reduction for COD. In addition, the system maintained stable features that were already positive.
